The Australian W3C Office is hosted by Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). CSIRO is Australia's pre-eminent research and development organisation renowned for its scientific excellence and its extensive educational and industrial network.

CSIRO delivers public good and commercial research outcomes for industry, society and the environment as well as collaborating with other research organisations in Australia and internationally.

The W3C Office is located in the CSIRO ICT Centre. The ICT Centre is the hub for ICT research in CSIRO, with a mission to deliver the enabling power of ICT across many industries.

CSIRO has been hosting the Australian W3C Office since August 2005.
